FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?
Appointments are booked online under the Book Online tab. A new page will open directing you to our online booking manager. A $50 non refundable booking deposit is required before your appointment is accepted. If you have any previous cosmetic tattooing please email hello@shuswapmicroblading.com prior to booking for approval.
WHAT PAYMENT METHODS TO YOU ACCEPT?
I accept all major credit cards, debit and cash. However I do not carry any change for cash transactions.
DOES IT HURT?
There can be minor pain throughout the procedure, everyone's pain tolerance will be different. I do use topical numbing throughout the entire procedure. Pain will be heightened if you have the procedure done during your menstrual cycle.
HOW MANY SESSIONS DO I NEED?
Two sessions are sufficient for most people. In some cases a third session will be required. Everything from skin type to lifestyle will affect how you heal and the longevity of your cosmetic tattoo.
WHY DO I NEED A TOUCH UP?
The touch up is a perfection session. I will evaluate how you've healed and what your pigment retention is like, and make any adjustments needed. This appointment is made no sooner than 6 weeks after initial session and up until 12 weeks after. Anything booked beyond 12 weeks will be an additional charge.
CAN I GET TATTOOED IF I'M BREASTFEEDING?
No. I cannot perform any microblading or tattoo procedures if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
CAN I GET TATTOOED IF I'M ON ACCUTANE?
No. You must have discontinued Accutane for at least one year before cosmetic tattooing.
HOW DO I KNOW IF I'M A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR COSMETIC TATTOOING?
You are not a suitable candidate for cosmetic tattoo procedures:
- If you are under the age of 18
- If you are pregnant or nursing
- If you've taken Accutane in the past year
- If you have a history of keloids or hypertrophic scarring
- If you are currently undergoing chemotherapy
- If you have any skin irritations, Eczema or Psoriasis near the treated area (rashes, sunburn, acne, etc)
We require a doctor's note before performing any procedures:
- If you are diabetic
- If you have epilepsy
- If you have a pacemaker or major heart problems
- If you've had an organ transplant
- If you have any heart conditions, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or are immuno compromised.
- If you have any viral infections and/or diseases.
PRE CARE INSTRUCTIONS
READ THROUGH CAREFULLY PRIOR TO BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT
- Do not tweeze, wax, thread or tint your eyebrows one week before your appointment.
- Do not tan two weeks prior or have a sunburned face.
- No facials two weeks prior to treatment.
- Do not have Botox done 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after your appointment.
- Do not drink alcohol 24 hours before your procedure.
- Do not consume caffeine before your procedure.
- Do not work out the day of the procedure.
- Do not take Aspirin or Ibuprofen prior to your procedure. Acetaminophen is fine.
PLEASE BE AWARE IF ANY OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED IS NOT FOLLOWED YOU WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED A CANDIDATE FOR COSMETIC TATTOOING. YOUR PROCEDURE WILL BE RESCHEDULED OR CANCELLED AND YOUR DEPOSIT WILL BE FORFEITED.
AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Aftercare is very important to ensure proper healing and colour retention. Results will vary for all individuals and we cannot guarantee your results.
POST APPOINTMENT (7-10 DAYS)
Keep the area clean and dry.
First 48 hours : Gently wash using clean fingertips with soap and water every few hours (no washcloth). Any gentle unscented soap is fine, like Cetaphil, Dove, Dr. Bronners. Pat dry with a clean tissue. For dry to normal skin, apply a rice grain amount of ointment with a clean Q tip before bed and in the morning. For oily skin, no ointment is required.
Day 3+ : Gently wash morning and night, use ointment as needed if feeling dry, tight or itchy.
Use shower shield while showering to avoid over saturation of water in the brows.
No exercise for 7 days.
Do not expose treated area to direct sunlight. After completely healed (30 days) use sunscreen to avoid fading from the sun.
Eyebrows will scab or become slightly dry following the treatment. if they itch, DO NOT SCRATCH.
If your eyebrows get wet during the healing process, pat them dry with a towel, DO NOT RUB.
Avoid using daily skincare products directly on the eyebrows.
Chemical peels, or any other medical procedure should only be done once the healing process is complete; please take this into consideration if you're scheduling a touch up, as they cannot be done 6 weeks prior to cosmetic tattooing.
No makeup should be applied directly on the brows during the healing process (30 days).
Do not touch, rub, pick or scratch your brows following treatment or during healing process.
PLEASE NOTE: THE DEPOSIT IS TRANSFERABLE AS LONG AS RE BOOKING TAKES PLACE WITHIN 48 HOURS OF YOUR SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT. CANCELLATION OF YOUR APPOINTMENT IS A FORFEIT OF YOUR BOOKING FEE.
IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUS COSMETIC TATTOOING DONE BY ANOTHER ARTIST, YOU MUST EMAIL OR TEXT A CLEAR PHOTO FOR APPROVAL BEFORE BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT.
PLEASE NOTE: I DO NOT TOUCH UP OTHER ARTISTS WORK. IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUS COSMETIC TATTOOING DONE BY SOMEONE OTHER THAN MYSELF, YOUR APPOINTMENT WITH ME IS CONSIDERED A NEW SET OF BROWS. TOUCH UP PRICES ARE ONLY FOR EXISTING CLIENTS OF MINE.
